She Never Smiles

I see a girl who never smiles
Ever once in a while I think she's laughing. I think she's laughing.
She told me she can see for miles...And the number she dialed
Was a checkered taxi. A checkered taxi.

She's in the back seat, watching her feet.
Her dream of the street so long ago.
The sound of the engine.
The turning transmission. All this indecision-
Well that's when the drinks flow - Do ya know?

Looking threw windows of time.
Your learning to fly.
Looking as it crumbles inside
Never time to wonder why.

I see a girl who never smiles
Ever once in a while I think she's laughing
She dresses up in style - To look good at the trial.
To send you away. Send you away.

Now it's her point of view.
The thing's she says in the courtroom.
It's got you singing the blues, So long ago.

Your like a tragedy magnet.
And she's serving up static
It's all so fantastic well, that's how the drinks flow.
Do ya know?

Looking threw windows of time.
Your learning to fly.
Looking as it crumbles inside
Never time to wonder why.

I see a girl who never smiles..The document she filed..
I guess she's laughing.
