Online Recovery?

1 Corinthians 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

Been a bit of controversy stirring over the Tulsa recovery website I put up using the ning tools. There are a lot of these networking sites out there with the popularity of myspace and facebook.
It make since that it would transcend into the recovery community.

• My Sobriety space
• 12 Step Space
• Staying Cyber

Many people in recovery are a part of the myspace community too... Lots of AA and NA groups that are very popular. Some folks in recovery depend on the internet to get recovery as they may be confined to home or need assistance to get to meetings.

Tradition 11: Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio and films.

Does this mean internet? Press, radio, films and internet. And bumper stickers and jewlery and lighters. Rehab is for quitters... I like that shirt...Perhaps it would look better with the NA logo. The NA logo looks good on several Tattoos I have seen. I like the NA logo better than the AA. It just looks cooler to a digital artist like myself...

Tradition 10: Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the A.A. name ought never be drawn into public controversy.

I LOVE controversy... I love to talk about our president and stuff... Online, in meetings, at the job.. Wherever... It's just good clean fun. I hear a lot about mental illness and stuff in meetings..And of course...Drugs...Does it create controversy?Sure... Everybody has an opinion.

So what is the post all about? I started to take down the recovery website. But after thinking (and praying) about it I decided to leave it up for now... I made a few changes to make it seem a bit more annonomous. But I won't be swayed.. The internet is simply a tool for communication. It can be used for good or evil... Depends on the motives...

I plan on continuing to work and promote the site to see what happens over the next few months or so... If it doesn't grow I'll consider letting it go. But I believe it will do recovery better as a "whole" than cause unwanted grief to members of recovery groups or programs...

I plan on attending the group conscience for the folks opposing this view... Listen to opinions and suggestions... But won't be strong armed into taking the site down... I haven't heard that that is the intention...But have heard that I needed to be there to "defend" myself... Hmmmm?

American Psycho - I never knew they actually made that many skin products for men... He's very conscientious about how he looks.... Great psychology that one... He knows he's sick... And audio boggs about it...To himself anyway. B-
Black Snake Moan - Southern fried sex addiction. Great blues songs... I ain't no student of the blues but that stuff was pretty good... Can't decide rather the movie was or not...Hmmmm? C+
Planet Terror - Buckets of blood folks... I was entertained by both the GrindHouse flicks... It pissed me off that they released them on DVD seperatley... Must be because it flopped at the box office. It's all about money you know.. B-

Networking

Got a bit of a workgroup wireless network going on at the house now... A feeling of success now that im in a totally different room on the internet... Wow...What a geek.... LOL

Yeah... I know... I go in there and look around once in awhile.... My internet activities have and always will be a bit fickle ya know... I will keep this blogg updated as it is my favorite free blogging tool.

Actually all of googles tools are pretty darn good... On a new box of mine I am playing with picasa. A free image editing tool that is rather powerful... I am using googles online photo gallery to post some pictures...

My Space? Hmmm? You know I have always internally debated about that site... It's clunky tools, ridiculous endless profiles and crazy smack talking mackin' that goes on there... Sure it's fun when your a "swinging single" and all... But then I ain't never been much on talking smack... And I aint' single either...

But you can always count on the DaveStuff Blogg ya know? I'm still alive and kicking...

Perfect Love

I know who killed me - So bad it was entertaining... Lot's of sex ya know? Dig the song that the bad guy was playing near the movies climax. Who the heck was that guy anyways? Where did he come from? F
The tripper - Oh yeah looking at some new horror stuff with my girl. This B flick rocks. What could be better than drugs sex murder and hippies... With Ronald Reagan as the killer. Pretty groovy ya know? B+
300 - That narrator got my nerves a bit. I don't know... Maybe a over produced snore. I was asleep during parts so I can't remember... D

Layed Off

Yep.... It's George Bush Jr's fault you know? They are closing the plant at 44th across from sams... It's been a printing plant in Tulsa for more years than I been alive... That's 42 folks....When it opened back then as Ross Martin it was the only thing out there except for farmland....

It's a strange world really....
Am I worried? Sure...But God's always got something up his sleeve. And he's always got His kid's best welfare in mind... He's got a plan... I think I'll go with it...

New Years Resolutions 2008

1. Stay Clean serine and sober... Like, in wonderland.
   
2. Work and build a meaningful, healthy and committed relationship with my girlfriend.
3. Join and get involved in a church
4. Get caught up on some good movies.
5. Read more.
6. Get better control of finances.... Man...Like really.
7. Go to and support my recovery group(s)
   
8. Stop speaking in tounges
9. Dodge satanic bullets
10. Consider a bedtime rule...Then break it.
11. Stop eating hamburger helper
12. Stop singing ANY blues songs.
13. Start a tree hugging program
14. Look to the sky's with eyes that shine.
15. Lastly - Vote Democrat. My early resolution since high school.
